David Martins Releases More Chats In Neon Adejo Controversy

Photographer, David Martins has released additional WhatsApp conversations he claims were exchanged between gospel singer, Neon Adejo and his estranged wife, Alicia Daniella, as the public dispute surrounding the pair continues to escalate.

Martins shared the latest messages on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, shortly after Adejo addressed the allegations against him and accused the photographer of manipulating previously released screenshots. The latest development has added another layer to an increasingly publicised marital crisis involving Martins and Alicia.

In one of the newly released conversations, Adejo allegedly asked Alicia about her appearance, particularly her nails, in a message that read: “Are you missing me? You didn’t show me your new nails.”

The message was presented by Martins as further evidence that his interactions with Alicia went beyond what he described as a normal or innocent relationship.

The photographer also released a video in which he attempted to highlight what he described as inconsistencies in the timestamps of messages presented by Adejo in his response to the allegations.

According to Martins, the timestamps appear to show messages arranged in an order that does not correspond with their stated times. He argued that the alleged discrepancy raises questions about whether the screenshots presented by Adejo were edited.

The latest claims came after Adejo publicly responded to the controversy, insisting that his interactions with Alicia were misunderstood and that he did not have a romantic relationship with her.

The gospel singer had explained that his involvement with Alicia began after she allegedly approached him during a conference and opened up about difficulties in her marriage. Adejo said she became emotional while speaking to him and told him about alleged mental, financial, verbal and emotional abuse.

Adejo subsequently said he decided to assist Alicia and her young son during what he believed was a difficult period. According to reports of his explanation, he provided financial assistance, helped with accommodation and also arranged for her hair to be done through a contact.

He maintained that his actions were motivated by a desire to help rather than romantic interest. Adejo also said his wife was aware of his interactions with Alicia and that he had kept her informed about the assistance he was providing.

The controversy, however, intensified after Martins released private conversations which he claimed suggested that the relationship between Adejo and Alicia was more personal than the singer had admitted.

Among the messages previously circulated was an exchange in which Adejo allegedly asked Alicia to send him a selfie. He also reportedly sent her ₦150,000 and discussed accommodation for her and her child.

Adejo later explained that his request for a selfie was connected to the assistance he had offered Alicia, saying he wanted to see how she looked after arranging for her hair to be done. He denied having any inappropriate intentions.

The singer also released what he described as evidence to support his account, including conversations and a recording of a three-way call involving himself, Alicia and Martins. Adejo argued that some of the messages released by Martins had been taken out of context.

In his response, Adejo reportedly stated that if the chats had been doctored, then other material presented alongside them should also be questioned. He insisted that he had only wanted to help Alicia and did not approach her with romantic intentions.

Martins has now challenged that explanation.

In his latest response, the photographer argued that it was Adejo’s version of the conversations that contained questionable timestamps. He pointed specifically to messages that appeared to have been presented in an order that, according to him, was chronologically impossible.

Martins questioned how a message showing a later time could appear before another message bearing an earlier timestamp on the same day. He used the alleged inconsistency to reinforce his claim that the material presented by Adejo had been edited.

The dispute has therefore developed into a battle of competing versions, with both sides questioning the authenticity or interpretation of material being circulated online.

The allegations are also unfolding against the backdrop of the breakdown of Martins and Alicia’s marriage. Alicia had previously made allegations of abuse against her estranged husband, while Martins denied the allegations and subsequently made counterclaims against her.

Alicia has also addressed the allegations involving Adejo. In a statement issued through her lawyers and shared on her Instagram page on August 26, she reportedly denied having an affair or inappropriate relationship with any third party. Her lawyers warned against the continued publication of what they described as false and defamatory claims.

That response is significant because it places Alicia’s position separately from both Martins’ accusations and Adejo’s defence. While Martins has questioned the nature of her communication with the gospel singer, Alicia has rejected the suggestion that she had an affair with Adejo.

The public dispute has consequently widened beyond the original marital allegations, with private conversations, videos, social media posts and competing explanations becoming central to the controversy.

The development has attracted considerable attention because Adejo is a well-known Nigerian gospel singer, while Martins is a prominent photographer. Their involvement in the dispute has caused the allegations to spread rapidly across social media.

Reports published on August 24 and 25 showed that the controversy had already generated widespread discussion after Martins first shared alleged conversations involving his wife and Adejo. Adejo subsequently released his own account, saying he had become involved after Alicia allegedly sought his help during a difficult period.

With Martins now releasing additional messages and challenging the timestamps of Adejo’s evidence, the dispute shows no immediate sign of ending.

For now, the claims about the alleged chats remain disputed. Martins maintains that the messages he has released raise serious questions about Adejo’s interactions with Alicia, while Adejo insists that his involvement was driven by a desire to assist a woman and her child in distress.

Alicia, meanwhile, has denied allegations of an affair and, through her legal representatives, indicated that she is prepared to take action against what she considers defamatory claims.

The competing accounts mean that the authenticity, context and chronology of the private messages remain at the centre of the controversy as the parties continue to present their respective sides publicly.
