Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has responded to Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, after the Governor took a swipe at Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, over his widely publicised dancing at official and political events.
Davido’s response came through his Instagram Story on Friday, August 7, 2026, when he shared an image purported to be Governor Okpebholo’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, result.
The singer did not attach a caption or provide any explanation alongside the document. However, the timing of the post, coming shortly after Okpebholo’s comments about his uncle, was widely interpreted by social media users as a direct response to the Edo Governor.
Multiple Nigerian media outlets reported the development on Friday, stating that Davido posted what appeared to be Okpebholo’s WAEC result after the Governor mocked Adeleke. It was also reported that the document had not been independently verified and that neither Davido nor Okpebholo had immediately provided clarification about its authenticity.

“Before somebody signs paper, he will dance. Are you not tired? For four years, this man has been dancing,” Okpebholo was quoted as saying.
