One year after taking charge of the All Progressives Congress, National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, says the Party has made significant progress and is now set for even bigger victories.

Yilwatda, who marked his first anniversary in office on Friday, credited the APC’s achievements over the past 12 months to the unity and commitment of its members across the country.

In a statement shared on X, the APC Chairman described his first year in office as a period of “immense responsibility, purposeful service and collective accomplishment,” saying he remained committed to strengthening the Party and advancing its progressive ideals.

“It has been a year of immense responsibility, purposeful service and collective accomplishment, driven by an unwavering commitment to strengthen our Party and advance the ideals that unite us,” he said.

Yilwatda expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his confidence and support, while also thanking members of the National Working Committee, governors, elected representatives, Party leaders, stakeholders and APC members across Nigeria for their loyalty and dedication.

“I express my sincere appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his confidence, steadfast support and exemplary leadership. My gratitude equally goes to members of the National Working Committee, our governors, elected representatives, Party leaders, stakeholders and the millions of loyal APC members across Nigeria whose commitment, sacrifice and belief have made our progress possible,” he stated.

Reflecting on his time as National Chairman, Yilwatda said the Party had focused on strengthening its unity and institutional structures, expanding consultations and promoting inclusion and shared responsibility.

“Over the past twelve months, we have worked deliberately to consolidate unity, strengthen the institutional foundations of our Party, expand consultations and foster a culture of inclusion, accountability and shared responsibility.

“Together, we have demonstrated that when the APC stands united, it remains the strongest and most formidable political platform in Nigeria,” he said.

The APC National Chairman also pointed to the Party’s electoral victories during the period as evidence of the continued confidence Nigerians have in its leadership and vision.

“Our impressive electoral victories during this period are a testament to the confidence Nigerians continue to place in our Party. These achievements belong to every committed member and reaffirm that the APC remains the preferred platform for progressive governance and national development,” he added.

Looking ahead, Yilwatda pledged to promote internal democracy, modernise the administration of the Party and deepen engagement with its members as the APC continues to support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“This anniversary is more than a moment of reflection; it is a renewed call to greater service. We will continue to strengthen internal democracy, modernise Party administration, deepen engagement with our members and position the APC for even greater success as we advance and support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

Reaffirming his leadership approach, Yilwatda said he would continue to serve the Party with humility, fairness, transparency and dedication.

“As we begin another year of service, I reaffirm my commitment to lead with humility, fairness, transparency and unwavering dedication. Together, we will continue to build a stronger, more united APC and contribute meaningfully to the peace, stability and prosperity of our beloved nation,” he stated.

He also thanked Party members and supporters for their trust and prayers, expressing optimism about the future of the APC.

“The journey continues, and I remain confident that our best days are still ahead. One year completed. Greater victories ahead,” he said.
