Kira Taiwo, daughter of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has raised concerns over alleged attempts by some individuals to profit from her father’s ongoing health crisis.

Kira made the allegation during an emotional TikTok live session as the family continues to seek medical assistance for the veteran actor, who has reportedly been diagnosed with stage-four cancer.

According to her, some people have approached the family with offers of assistance involving substantial financial demands. She expressed frustration that the family, already dealing with the emotional weight of her father’s illness, could also be placed under additional financial pressure.

In an emotional moment, Kira said some individuals had mentioned figures ranging from hundreds of thousands of naira to millions of naira and thousands of dollars while offering solutions to the family’s situation.

“My father is a good father. Some people are even trying to make money with us in this whole situation. Fear God,” she said during the live session.

Kira stressed that her family’s immediate concern was finding appropriate treatment for Ogogo rather than dealing with financial arrangements that could further strain them.

The situation has also taken an emotional toll on Kira herself. During the broadcast, she disclosed that she was struggling to cope with the circumstances and intended to check her blood pressure.

The actor’s daughter also spoke about the impact of her father’s condition on other members of the family, particularly his brother, whom she affectionately referred to as her “big daddy.”

She recalled seeing a message in the family’s group conversation about Ogogo’s health in which her cousin relayed a deeply emotional question from the actor’s brother about whether Taiwo Hassan would survive the illness.

Kira described the relationship between the two brothers as exceptionally close, saying the family was deeply affected by the possibility of losing Ogogo.

The latest development follows earlier appeals from Ogogo’s daughters for medical assistance. Kira and her sister, Lima Taiwo, recently turned to social media to seek help from Nigerians, medical professionals and well-wishers who may have access to treatment options for the actor.

Lima had clarified that the family was not seeking cash donations but was looking for someone capable of providing or facilitating medical treatment for their father.

Kira subsequently disclosed that Ogogo’s condition had reached stage four and said the family had been informed that chemotherapy could no longer continue at the hospitals where he had been receiving treatment.

Her appeal was direct: anyone with the knowledge, resources or medical connections capable of helping the veteran actor was urged to contact the family.

Ogogo, 66, is one of the respected figures in Yoruba-language Nigerian cinema. With a career spanning more than four decades, he has appeared in hundreds of films and built a reputation as one of the industry’s prominent veteran actors.

As concerns surrounding his health continue to generate public attention, his family has appealed for genuine medical assistance while expressing concern about individuals who may seek to exploit the situation.

For now, Kira’s message remains focused on one priority: finding a way to help her father access the treatment he needs while the family navigates an extremely difficult period.
