Oyo 2027: Alli Unveils Fresh Campaign Power Team
Ahead of the 2027 governorship election, the All Progressives Congress candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has unveiled a new set of campaign appointments as his team steps up preparations for the poll.
The appointments bring several prominent Party figures into key positions within the campaign organisation, with the structure expected to strengthen mobilisation and coordination across the State.
Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, announced the appointments in a statement issued in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
The latest appointments come after Chief Yemi Aderibigbe was previously named Director-General of the campaign organisation.
Under the new arrangement, Hon. Sola Ogunbode has been appointed Deputy Director-General, where he will support the Director-General in coordinating campaign activities across Oyo State.
Barrister Lowo Obisesan was named Assistant Director-General for Oyo South Senatorial District, while Rt. Hon. Asimiyu Alarape will serve as Assistant Director-General for Oyo Central. Hon. Rasaq Raji was appointed Assistant Director-General for Oyo North Senatorial District.
According to Alli, the appointments are aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation, improving coordination across the three senatorial districts and positioning the campaign for the 2027 governorship election.
The APC candidate expressed confidence that the new appointees would deploy their political experience, leadership capacity and commitment towards securing victory for the Party in the forthcoming election.
Alli also assured Party members that his campaign would be inclusive, stressing that every ward, local government and interest group within the APC would have a role to play.
He said the task ahead was significant but maintained that the Party could achieve its objective through unity of purpose.
Raji is a grassroots politician and APC chieftain from Igbeti in Olorunsogo Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Alarape, a metallurgical graduate, served as Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly from 1999 to 2003 and later became Minority Leader between 2019 and 2023. He also served as a Special Adviser during the administration of the late former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala.
Obisesan, a lawyer and Ibadan senior chief, previously served as Commissioner for Environment under the administration of the late former Governor, Abiola Ajimobi. He is also the founder of Black & White Law Chamber.
