President Bola Tinubu has directed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and relevant intelligence agencies to launch intensified operations aimed at identifying and arresting those behind the deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The President issued the order following the attack, which reportedly left about 30 people dead, including women and children, with several houses destroyed.
Tinubu’s directive was disclosed in a statement released on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
“I have directed the Armed Forces, police and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to track down the perpetrators swiftly and restore normalcy to the region,” Tinubu said.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security system and dismantling criminal groups threatening peace and stability across the country.
“Our administration has an unwavering commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, equipping response personnel and neutralising criminal networks attempting to disrupt the peace of the nation,” he added.
Tinubu also urged residents to support security agencies by providing useful and timely information that could assist ongoing efforts to apprehend the attackers.
“I urge our local communities to cooperate with security forces by providing actionable intelligence that would help early response efforts,” the President said.
The directive followed the early Monday attack on Naridon Village, which reportedly resulted in the deaths of around 30 residents, including women and children, while several homes were burnt or destroyed.
Describing the incident as a “barbaric and cowardly attack” on innocent citizens, Tinubu condemned the violence as an unprovoked act of terror against defenceless people.
The President vowed that those responsible would be tracked down and brought to justice, warning that anyone attempting to undermine the peace and security recently achieved in Kaduna State would face the consequences.
He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, the State Government and residents of Kaduna State.
Tinubu assured affected communities of the Federal Government’s support during the mourning period and restated his administration’s determination to confront security challenges across Nigeria.
