The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a final reminder to Nigerians who are yet to register or update their voter details, with the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise set to end on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

The Commission urged eligible citizens who have not completed the registration process to use the remaining time before the deadline.

INEC said the exercise is intended to ensure that eligible Nigerians are properly captured in the voters’ register ahead of future elections.

The electoral body also encouraged prospective registrants to complete their registration before the CVR window officially closes.

This final warning comes as millions of Nigerians prepare to participate in upcoming elections across the country, including the Osun State off-cycle governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.

INEC has repeatedly extended the CVR exercise to accommodate more eligible voters, but the Commission insists that Sunday’s deadline will be strictly enforced.

Citizens who have issues with lost, damaged, or outdated PVCs were also advised to visit INEC offices or the official portal to update their information before the portal shuts down.

The Commission reiterated its commitment to delivering a credible, free and fair electoral process and called on all stakeholders to mobilize eligible voters within their communities.
