President Bola Tinubu has unveiled a fresh list of appointments across several federal agencies, with former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, emerging as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

The appointments, which affect 26 positions, were announced on Monday in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, and take immediate effect.

Fayose will chair the REA board alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, who were appointed members and non-executive directors.

The Agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors will make up the remaining members of the board.

Tinubu also appointed retired Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.

Former Lagos State member of the House of Representatives, Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, was named Secretary of the Commission, while Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun and Yakubu Umar Barde were appointed commissioners representing Benue, Oyo and Kaduna States respectively.

Other members of the Commission are Dr. Mai Adamu Yau from Borno State, Ginika Florence Tor from Enugu, Engineer Lawrence Okoh from Edo and Bello Morenike Iyabode from Kogi.

The President also redeployed Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, who was previously appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), to serve as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission.

In other appointments, Tinubu named Dr. Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission (NPC), Dr. Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET), and Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.

Engineer Julius Oloro was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), based in Kwara State. He replaces Dr. A.R. Kamal, who died in January.

Tinubu also approved the constitution of the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, appointing Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman.

Other members of the board are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.

Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education. He replaces Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was reassigned to the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) in April.

The President further appointed Gisaor Vincent Iorja as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), replacing Mathias Byuan, who resigned to contest the Benue State governorship election.

According to the Presidency, Iorja is an economist, legal scholar and academic who currently serves as Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).

The Presidency said all the appointments take immediate effect.
