Candidates seeking admission into Nigerian universities for the 2026/2027 academic session can now breathe easier after the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) officially retained 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for university admissions nationwide.

The decision was announced on Monday during JAMB’s annual policy meeting held in Abuja, where vice-chancellors from various universities across the country participated in the deliberations and voting process.

According to the examination body, the benchmark was approved following votes cast by the vice-chancellors present at the meeting.

The announcement means universities will not admit candidates who score below 150 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for the 2026/2027 admission cycle.
