Nigerian content creator and streamer Peller has sparked reactions online after comparing the streaming numbers of rising singer Ice King Ochacho with those of Champz, the son of Afrobeats star Wizkid.

The moment occurred during a recent livestream, where Peller discussed Ice King’s growing music profile and referenced his streaming figures before bringing Champz into the conversation.

Peller appeared to highlight Ice King’s numbers, which were approaching one million streams, before mentioning that Champz had recorded about eight million streams on Spotify.

Realising the weight of the comparison, Peller quickly changed direction and insisted that there was “no competition,” while suggesting that Ice King still had a long way to go.

The sudden change in tone caught the attention of viewers, with clips from the livestream circulating across social media and generating different reactions from fans.

Champz, whose music has continued to attract attention, has already recorded millions of streams for his music, including more than eight million Spotify streams for “Champion Sound,” according to reports circulating online.

Meanwhile, Ice King Ochacho recently achieved a new milestone after his debut single, “No Competition,” entered the Nigerian Spotify Top Songs chart at number 194 with 29,230 streams.

The young artiste has also received significant backing from his family, with his father, billionaire businessman King Ochacho, previously announcing plans to invest $1 million in promoting his son’s upcoming album.

Peller has equally positioned himself as one of the people supporting Ice King’s growing music career, making the streamer’s comparison with Champz particularly notable among social media users.

Rather than allowing the comparison to continue, however, Peller appeared to retreat from the initial assessment, prompting fans to joke about his quick change of position.

The incident has once again placed both young artistes at the centre of online conversations as Ice King continues to build his music career and Champz gains attention with his own releases.
