Businesswoman, Aisha Achimugu, has suffered another legal setback after a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Apo, Abuja, ordered the final forfeiture of assets worth about ₦8.9 billion to the Federal Government.
Justice Jude Onwugbuzie issued the order on Thursday, July 16, 2026, while delivering judgment on an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which argued that the assets were linked to unlawful activities.
The ruling comes months after a Federal High Court in Abuja affirmed the final forfeiture of $13 million traced to Achimugu’s company in a separate case.
The assets forfeited in the latest judgment include jewellery valued at ₦4.65 billion, 11 exotic vehicles worth ₦4.29 billion, $50,000 and ₦30 million in cash.
Justice Onwugbuzie granted the EFCC’s application seeking the permanent forfeiture of the properties to the Federal Government.
The anti-graft agency had asked the court to order the final forfeiture of the assets, maintaining that they were proceeds linked to unlawful activities.
The court subsequently granted the request and directed that the jewellery, vehicles and cash be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.
